CHICAGO — Joe Duffy, executive director of Climate Jobs Illinois, issued the following statement after the U.S. House of Representatives today passed the historic Inflation Reduction Act:

“The Inflation Reduction Act will deliver real economic relief for families, and it will bring the fight to climate change on an unprecedented scale with historic investments in renewable energy. Most importantly, it will do so by putting working people first. Having enacted a similar law in Illinois that sets the strongest labor standards in the country and expands job and training opportunities for Black and Brown communities, we applaud Congress for passing this transformative legislation, and we are eager for President Biden to sign it into law so we can get to work building the new clean energy economy.”
