Climate Jobs Illinois supports the proposed Rust Belt to Green Belt Pilot Program Act to help Illinois jumpstart an offshore wind project in Lake Michigan and create thousands of good-paying union jobs.

Sponsored by Representative Marcus Evans and Senator Robert Peters, this bill would direct the Illinois Power Agency to procure renewable energy credits for an offshore wind pilot project on Lake Michigan as part of the state’s ongoing efforts to transition to a 100% clean energy economy by 2045.
